Acapulco

On the beach. Feeling a bit guilty chilling out in a resort meant for rich people, americans and mexicans, when I know that they need me in Puebla. Well, I will be there in two days. And the rest is just hard work. Me, Alberto and Alejandro share a big hotel room in a huge hotel with a pool and a beach. I try swimming in the Pacific, but it is far too UNpacific for swimming. I burnt my skin, and so did the others. We eat and watch tv too much. Simple life, a bit passive I must say:D Still alive, and hopefully so as well after travelling 7 hours to Puebla to work. Well, the busses are comfortable. And much more expensive than I expected. Chao, Mexico thanks you.

El Metro

Such a huge city. We have to travel by metro all the time, at least one hour daily. You see all kinds of people, rich and poor (well, not the richest of the rich), crippled, sad, in love, young, old. Mexicans are passionate, you see people kissing and hugging each other a lot. Beggars and vendors, selling everything imaginable, come accross tens of times a day. Streets are full of people selling cds, dvds, candy (delicious stuff!), food, etc. The food has made me sick. I thought I was prepared, i took all kinds of pills, but it still got me. Lovely juices and fresh fruit, nuts and ten thousand versions of tortillas attract and also repell me, you know, they are not served in antibacterial packages like in northern Europe! Life is hard for a lot of people in this city, but at least the food is cheap and good.

We are going to Acapulco with Alberto and Alejandro for a week. Everything works based on connections, and that is also how we found very cheap accomodation in Acapulco, in a beach resort. Finally I will get tanned a bit so that I will no longer stand out of the Mexican crowd so much. People stare at me a lot because of my European heritage... I would love to blend in a bit better, maybe the Acapulco sun will help me a bit with that... Let´s see:) Then I can travel on the metro without so many curious eyes on me.

Ciudad de Mexico

Here I am now, officially, after trying to sleep for one night at the Helsinki airport, walking in Amsterdam alone, bored, listening to music for one day, sleeping on the floor of Henrieke, my ex-RCN neighbour, who now studies in Utrecht Univ. College, for one night.. After 10,5 h on a KLM airplane, without sleeping well for 2 days, I got to the Mexico airport and Alberto didnt find me for two hours. I talked to several people, tried to call Ale, Alberto, Albertos house, Ales granny, etc Albi appeared. He had waited for me somewhere wrong. Well, even though I didnt panic at any point of the waiting, surprisingly, I was more than relieved!! Sometimes I thought I would get robbed, killed, fooled by someone "helpful" or that I would just have to get on the next flight back to Finland.. Well, now I am happily here, safe so far. Mexico City is huge, polluted (my thoat aches), noisy, full of people, chaotic, etc. I like it! :D The food will for sure make me fat, and in the beginning also sick. Now, I have to explore the city more with Ale! We have already been on a tourist bus ride, and who knows whats up next! Chao!
